If you would like to be sure that the tank is clean, use a bleach solution of one cup of bleach to nineteen cups of water. Use a toothbrush to thoroughly work the solution into the interior tank seams including the plastic rim at the top of the aquaium. Use a white cloth to clean the interior glass. Rinse the aqaurium well with tap water.

When you are done, and the aquarium had dried, it should not have a bleach smell. If it does, you should overdose water conditioner when you set-up your tank. Use two to three times the recommended dose if you have a slight bleach smell.

I would like to add, that you should not use the same filter cartridges to cycle the tank, b/c those will most likely have the infected HITH germies as well. You don't want to give it to more fish, so I'd start over. Disinfect your filter as well, and then put in cartridges or media from another tank if that one is healthy. Make sure you rinse out or maybe even replace the substrate, and all decor. This goes for all airstones and heaters as well. It'll take some time, but it'll be worth it to see this "new" tank have healthy fish in it. GL

Don't flush. Please do not flush.

You should euthanize him...there's that clove oil trick, but I don't know exactly how to do it. Wait till somebody else comes and posts how to do it.

Because you posted multiple threads on this and I had a hard time finding the other thread because of a glitch in the profile that wouldn't let me see your active threads, I'm going to post this up here so that anyone looking at this has as much info as possible:
