New Tank - Bargain! | |
crusha Enthusiast Fish Geek Posts: 262 Kudos: 183 Votes: 102 Registered: 11-Nov-2005 | I can't believe my luck. I was browsing through the local newspaper and came across an add for a 6 foot tank (100gls). To cut a long story short, I was lucky enough to buy it. It came with a jebo (not sure if thats a good brand?) external canister filter, stand, hood, light, various test kits, heaters x 2, driftwood, air pump and various other bits and pieces for the grand price of $250.00. That should keep me busy for a few months! Lucky or What |

Just make sure you water test outside or someplace safe before setting it up, or was it running when you purchased it? What are your plans for setup and stocking? Jim |

It was empty when I purchased it so I will definately have to do a water test but all seals look great. It wasn't very old - around 2 years. My plan is to move all my current stock from my 55g into it. I have some clown loaches and BGK's which will definately appreciate the extra space. The 55g will then eventually be turned into a cichlid tank. Like I said ... its going to keep me busy for a few months. Not sure about the quality of the Jebo 838 (1200l/h)filter. My 55 has an Eheim 2217 so I might move that along with the fish. Will have to do some research. Anyone had any experience with the Jebo? Cheers - Crusha |

And I agree the clown loaches and the BGK will definitely appreciate and enjoy the additional swimming room. It should make for a very nice display tank. Jim |

I dont know much about a Jebo but I certainly would be looking at installing a big Eheim pro11 or the next model up. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. The reason i bought it being it was way cheaper than the regular brands Not using it anymore. Now when you've got made such a good deal for the tank, you shouldnt mind investing some green in a good recognized filter |

Too easy to cause you much grief later. Keep us updated on how it's going! 29g - 5 Head and Tail Light Tetras, 1 Black Phantom Tetra, 1 melanistius cory, 1 Featherfin Synodontis, 1 otto 29g - 14 harlequin rasboras, 5 albino corys, 3 ottos 10g - 1 glowlight tetra, 2 Black phantom tetras, 1 red betta on entertainment center |

I've just washed and rinsed and washed ... and again! 55kg of natural gravel. Filled her up and have set up the cannister filter. Added a few plants, driftwood and rocks. I'll try and post some pics for you to have a looky! Its so exciting setting up a new tank! After this ones complete I'm going to have a go at Cichlids. Should be fun I think! |
