My wife and I picked out red gravel, white quartz, and blue backing...whole thing was $40! It is all set up, filled, conditioned, and Danio's are a cycling away. We have ordered new stock for our 55G that will arrive in two week intervals 7x Bosemani RF, 4x Red RF, and some emerald cories. Good times at the sageman house. 55G -5x Bosemani, 3x Emerald Cory,3x Red Rainbow, 3x Turquoise Rainbow. 20G-Empty. 10G -4x Danio 3x Cory Fry 1 Gold Mystery Snail. 10G- 1x CAE, 2x Tetra 1x ADF |

These fish are under observation and might receive mild treatment (parasite, for example) to protect their prospective tankmates. They should feel comfortable and an environment with hiding places and plants will be a big plus. The hospital tank is solely for the treatment of fish that are definitely sick! Here, any 'decoration' should be easy to clean and removable. Fishsage is doing the right thing. |

From your note you I gather that the Danio's are in the 10G tank cycling it, and that the new fish are on order. You are making a mistake. A 10G tank is not really a suitable QT tank. It is too small. QT tanks, IMO, should be 20-30G. A hospital tank of 10G is ideal. When you purchase fish for a tank, it's a good idea to purchase, and quarantine them, as a complete shoal or school, one species at a time. To do that you would need a tank larger than 10G to house, for a month (at least, preferably two) all those fish that you are purchasing. If you are going to purchase the new community for the 55 in its entirety at the same time, you might as well dump them in the 55 and forget quarantining them. The fish I ordered will come staggered in two week intervals a few at a time. I am not going to make the same mistake as last time, and stock anything too fast. I realize that 10g is prob small for a QT, but 55G is prob a little small for the number of fish I will eventually house, a 125 would be better, but you have to do what you can. dan 55G -5x Bosemani, 3x Emerald Cory,3x Red Rainbow, 3x Turquoise Rainbow. 20G-Empty. 10G -4x Danio 3x Cory Fry 1 Gold Mystery Snail. 10G- 1x CAE, 2x Tetra 1x ADF |
