Power Point Postion | |
fandan Hobbyist Posts: 130 Kudos: 43 Registered: 24-Mar-2007 | hi- this may seem stupid but i am just wandering where is the best place to position your power point- in the stand or on the wall? i am having to run an extension lead to the tank but want to fix that semi permanently some where. i suppose as long as there are no leaks then inside the stand is fine? |

This keeps any water that might run down cords from dripping into the outlet. If this actually ever happens I'm not sure...but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Since you want to place it in the stand I'd suggest having the loop on the outside of the stand then run the extra cords and plugs into the stand so that any water that would drip drips outside the stand. ^_^ |

These have the circuit breaker built into them and in the event of a surge in power, such as would happen if water shorted out a circuit, it's supposed to trip and cut off power to that appliance. 29g - 5 Head and Tail Light Tetras, 1 Black Phantom Tetra, 1 melanistius cory, 1 Featherfin Synodontis, 1 otto 29g - 14 harlequin rasboras, 5 albino corys, 3 ottos 10g - 1 glowlight tetra, 2 Black phantom tetras, 1 red betta on entertainment center |

On the wall is the far safest less chance of any water spillage getting on the board. Also each outlet point has its own on/off switch this is extremly important when you have multiple outlets. Here is the photo of the 5ft Power board. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
