Hi all,
Just wanna redo a 20g (US) high tank. I dont know if its even a standard tank as I made it myself with some spare glass... But i still love it as that was my first tank ever!
Well, coming to the point, can i put a single angel in it? Its 22 inches wide and 18 inches high, a UGF and a heater.

well angels get to be (at full size about 6-8 inches long)... and so there for your angel would have very little room in a 20 high.... sorry its too small.... I hate to like "drown" your idea.. im sorry.. I hate being the bad guy LOL I kept 2 angels in a 29 and that still diddnt work out... but you can ask for others advice...its just IMO

29gall-2 bolivian rams, 6 neon tetra, 4 lemon tetra, 2 lamp eye tetra, 6 black skirt tetra(which are rescues...long story, but finding good home soon), 4 zebra danio 10gall, pretty much nothing but plants....2gall-female betta

Yeah, not really a good idea, for fully grown angels I always recomend at least a tank that is 4ft long and 18' tall.

However seeing as you have a decent amount of height in that tank, you could set up a nice community with 3 schools each occupying different levels of the tank

Not having angels for a while I would still agree when it is fully grown it certainly would not be a good idea as they only look very gracefull in a large tank.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

So the angel is ruled out...
Please suggest what should I put in there instead keeping in mind the dimentions of the tank. I want only one or two graceful fish, and the idea is to have a low maintenance tank.
Thanks very much for the usual support...

Gourami or paradise fish maybe?

Maybe a pair of cherry barbs? They arent quite as active (IMO) as the gold or tiger barbs.

A few sparkling gourami would do the trick.

Or look for som einteresting killies, they just kinda hang out.

confused
I really love gouramis but I already have a gourami only 50g so i would stay away from them for now...
killies, i would love to have but my LFS doesnt carry any...
A pair of barbs ( i didnt know cherry barbs are not schooling) sounds good, but the idea was to have a single, a bit larger and colorful fish...
I'll visit my LFS this evening and let u know what i've got
