Does anyone have any recommendations for a good filter for a small 2.5 Gallon tank? I have a tank sitting around that I would like to put something in, but I don't know what to use for a filter.

I found this at my local PetSmart:
link

It seems to have the lowest flow rate of the ones I've seen. Has any one used this and would it work?

Thanks
-Rick

I use a stingray on my 5 gal. hex, and I am very happy with it. It's easy to use, easy to clean with both sponges and chemical media that only needs to be changed every 6 weeks (rinse them thoroughly when you do water changes, though), and seems to be fairly efficient.
As for flow rate, mine seems pretty powrful, so I turn the output nozzle toward a wall so the current doesn't sweep my betta across the tank. It's very quiet, though, and you can position the filter in any way you please. I keep mine about an inch below the level of the water. I also find the design attractive, so it doesn't create an eyesore in my small tank, and It's a little easier to comoflauge behind plants or decorations.
I am very happy with mine, and would recommend it.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I found a tiny filter for tanks up to three gallons, made by Whisper. Both PetsMart and Walmart have them. It was a bit more expensive at $11.00. It works with an airstone and draws the water up through a tube at the bottom and throught a small replacable filter.

Here's a link for the Azoo Palm Filter. Great working little filters and the flow rate is adjustable
