Hi All

Yippee, yahoo, I\'ve found a source of clear ammonia in Australia. No more using smelly prawns to do a fishless cycle. Anyway, I thought I\'d share. It\'s in a powder form & you make up a stock solution for daily dosing to the tank. I\'m currently using it to cycle 1 tank & to keep 2 already cycled tanks cycled, while the occupants are temporarily elsewhere.

Seems to be going well so far.

I know this is no big deal for our friends in the USA, who can get pure/clear ammonia quite easily, but here I've only ever found cloudy.

Wonder if it is worthwhile having this info available as a sticky, for the Aussie members?

Yes it does seem strange to not have it there. Maybe it's a sign to just use prawns

Blending the prawn will make things happen much faster, because the surface area will be greatly increased.
