Are you serious! How big is your pool? What fish are you thinking about? You could have some really big fish. How will you filter it and change the water? Can you only see it by looking in from the top?

Have you thought about filtration, water changes, and all that? It sounds cool...but will be alot of work. Research alot before you actually do it.

Sounds amazing all the fish you could keep in it would be awesome. Filtration and heating might be hard to do especially finding something that is covered in clorine. Keep us posted I cant wait to see photos of this setup.

Can you tell us size and potential stock?

While it sounds like a really cool idea, it's quite impractical. Any pool chemicals that have been used in it over the years will continue to leach into the water, so you will need to totally re-line the whole thing. A bunch of gallons of aquarium safe epoxy resin would work, but might crack over time. If you can find pond liners big enough or if you can patcha bunch of them together, that might work too. Then there's filtration: most pool filters for indoor pools are simply way too powerful for most fish, and most pools are too deep for most pond filters (at least they are at the deep end.

You might want to take a look at www.monsterifshkeepers.com to see the kinds of huge tanks some of the members there have, and ask them about the kind of work, construction, and money required to have an indoor pond like this. They'll probably tell you that it's possible, but it will probably cost at least $5,000 to fully set up, get all the necessary plumbing installed, and that's not even with buying fish. And then what are you going to do about algae, plants, lighting feeding, etc. How are you going to keep dirt and debris from people walking and living around it out of the pool? And water changes... probably draining a few inches each day and refilling would be the easiest way of doing it, but would still take a few hours every day, and be very very expensive to keep replenishing that much water every day to ensure that you change out at least 10% of your water every week.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

NinjaSeal,

Sounds like a great idea, but as it had been mentioned it will not be a cheap one

I remember that someone here at FP at some point linked to a website that displayed an indoor pool that had been converted to an aquarium. It was awesome , there were areas with rocks, open swimming sections, large and small fish.

If you have the time and the money, and if you are willing to spend many hours on upkeep, I would say go for it.

I imagine you with goggles and a snorkel doing your weekly maintenance
