Hello, I am new to the forum but had a few questions. About two months ago I started a 2.5g for my son which houses two guppies. Never had a problem. Tank is cycled. Bought a 5g(hospital tank for upcoming 55g) yesterday and today it is a bit cloudy. I did take some of the water and the filter from the 2.5 and put it in the 5g.It is also stocked with live plants. Does anyone know why it might be cloudy. Ph 7.2, amm and nitrites 0. Will this pass?

It might be cloudy because of the plants, some water changes would probably help the situation. What kind of substrate is in there? If it sand, that might be the cause.

Plain stone colored gravel. Which was well washed.

Is it possible that the new added could have been a bit cloudy to start off with or the mixture of both old and new waters.

Did you stir up the bottom very much when adding the new plants.

It is now three days since you posted the question. Is it still cloudy? If so take some water to your Aqu and get them to do a full water test.

Sorry that is the best I can do.

If the problem still persists go to chat and ask there for a quick answer some one is bound to help you on the spot.

Actually, today the water is clear and the ammonia, nitrites are at zero. Planning on adding guppies tomorrow to start the cycle. Thanks-it might have been the combo of the two waters and the planting of the plants. Thanks again
