I just purchased from a local breeder 5 Red Cherry Shrimp when they arrived there were a few babies as well I also have noticed one adult in particular is carrying a lot of eggs.
I have a lot of Anubias Nana in a big bunch and I think this is where the baby shrimp are.
I dont know if they will survive, the other fish in the tank are 4 khuli loaches, 1 Otto & 14 Cardinal tetras.
My main question do I have to add and special foods for the adult shrimps. They seem happy having a good feed of algae on the DW and ???? under the small crypts?

Ohhh, nice work! Are they nice? I'm thinking of getting some for my kitchen tank instead of the ghosties.

No idea on food, but I think they'd probably pick up the scraps from the others as well.

Hi Keith,

Pretty much as long as the shrimp are producing droppings and you can see waste in the intestines they are getting enough food from the algae, any excess fish food and microorganisms in the tank.

If you want to supplement their diet at all you can use a bit of extra fish food, some algae tabs or specific shrimp foods like hikari crab cuisine.

Good luck with the new shrimp - I expect to see some pics posted soon.

They seem to be all hiding at the moment. The ones that I have seen are towards the back of the tank or under the small Crypts.

Great job getting your hands on the Shrimp. I am sure yours will be fine with the fish you are keeping. My population is growing with my skunk loaches and whitecouds.

Being a I have a large population of shrimp and baby BN plecos in the tank I feed mine Omega One algae wafers pretty much every day. They come out of the woodworks for them.
