Okay, I tried to play with one of my Apples. I put him on the back of my hand, and he came out of his shell. He started to crawl around, but it felt as if he was biting me? Is this normal? Is it anything I should worry about?????

If you look very closely when your snail is crawling around on the glass, you can see a timy mouth that appears to be making a scraping motion. This is exactly what it's going, as these snails have tiny rough "teeth" that they use to scrape algae from surfaces. There are lots of minerals and stuff on your skin that the snail probably found very interesting.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I agree... It was most likely just using its radula (tooth-covered tongue) to scrape material off your hands to eat. If you look closely on the sides of the tank, you can usually see them "licking" the glass in the same way.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Yes. There's no reason for their behavior to change, so it probably won't.

Some snails are actually being used in beauty clinics to exfoliate the skin. They will scrape off dead layers of skin and any dirt they find. They can't do any damage to the healthy skin and usually it just tickles or feels weird. Luckily they stick good or I would have dropped a few when I first held them.
