Apple Bite ? | |
Inkling Fish Addict Posts: 689 Kudos: 498 Votes: 11 Registered: 07-Dec-2005 | Okay, I tried to play with one of my Apples. I put him on the back of my hand, and he came out of his shell. He started to crawl around, but it felt as if he was biting me? Is this normal? Is it anything I should worry about????? Inky |

This is exactly what it's going, as these snails have tiny rough "teeth" that they use to scrape algae from surfaces. There are lots of minerals and stuff on your skin that the snail probably found very interesting. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |

It was most likely just using its radula (tooth-covered tongue) to scrape material off your hands to eat. If you look closely on the sides of the tank, you can usually see them "licking" the glass in the same way. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |
