Just thought I'd share a couple of pics of the rednose shrimp I collected recently. These little guys are native to my area and have proven to be nice additions to the aquarium.

oh yeah thats a great find! arround here i hear them referred to as "Rudolf Shrimp" but its all the same. great find too. getting some local goodies is always great (especially for free!!!)

it would be nice to see them reproduce too in the tank. tell us how they do!

Looks like a good find and looking at some recent photos of your local shrimp never going to run out of them or many other varieties.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

That is pretty cool. I should look into seeing what I could collect locally. Maybe I will do that research this winter and the collecting this spring and summer.

just imagine if everyone collected, bred and sold local specimens... there would be no need for a noxious fish list!

I also desire to see what slocal at least in environment similar to mine... that way i could find fish to keep in ponds as well as find fascination fish to keep in tanks!
