aquapickle27 Enthusiast Posts: 182 Kudos: 98 Votes: 55 Registered: 28-Jan-2006 | I have a 38 gal. planted tank with a school of 16 harlequins, a pair of blue rams and some cories. Could ghost shrimp mix in with this stock? †Aquapickle† |

Joe Potato Fish Addict Kind of a Big Deal Posts: 869 Votes: 309 Registered: 09-Jan-2001 | Maybe. Depends on the rams. The rasboras and corys should leave them alone, but if the rams become hungry in the middle of the night... It could be snack time. I say go ahead and try it. Stamps are more expensive than ghost shrimp, so it wouldn't be a huge monetary loss should the rams decide not to play nice. |

Here not a big deal I can get 20 for a dollar. Go to you LFS and look in their feeder fish area and see if the offer them there. I know some online store sell them for 1.00 to 1.50 a peace, thats just crazy. Djrichie "So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish" Douglas Adams |

They are a sensetive fish when you bring them home so make sure you reading are good and turn out the lights over night. You may even want to try drip allication method. I also have one rubbernose, he does good for the glass, but not much else. He doesn't eat flakes or anything, so i wonder if he is starving or something. He literally sits on one piece of glass by my powerhead and doesn't move. †Aquapickle† |

FRANK Moderator Posts: 5108 Kudos: 5263 Votes: 1690 Registered: 28-Dec-2002 | Hi, Despite those fish being known to eat algae, algae is not the best all round food for them. Try blanching some Cucumber slices and place them in the tank for food as well. You can also use some fresh peas that have been blanched to split the pea skin. Pop the pea like a "zit" and give the meat of the pea to the fish. Blanching is placing the food item in boiling water for no more than a minute, then cool it and serve. Frequently cucumber slices will need to be attached to a small rock (weighted down) with a rubber band. That keeps it more or less in one place and makes it easier for the fish to get to it. brandeeno Mega Fish Posts: 929 Kudos: 636 Registered: 13-Sep-2007 | try giving your pleco and ottos some bottom feeder pellets. a variety is best because algae wafers and shrimp pellets aren't the best when alone. i bought six corries yesterday adnt eh LFS manager said that the best way to keep bottom feeders happy and doing their job is to supplement them with tablets or wafers for bottom feeders as well as the ocasional veggies. frank is right so listen to him intently! \\\\\\\"an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure\\\\\\\" |
