"Palaemon hendersonii" is not the valid scientific name. Do tell us of the survival rate.

I'd be very interested to hear how your shrimp arrive. I ordered a bunch of cherry reds and rainbow shrimp from AZ Gardens last year, and had about a 60% survival rate. I hope you fare better, considering the relatively small numbers you ordered.

I love my little 7 gal shrimp tank, so I can only imagine the fun to be had with a 20 gal shrimp tank!

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

Hmm i hope so too, well the shrimp arrived today. the fiorst thing I must say is that they are TINY!!!!!!1. i'm just glad i have small fish, otherwise the shrimp would be dinner.

I got all the shrimp except for the Tigers and the rainbow shrimp, that are being shipped later.

so out of the 33 shrimp I got today 9 were dead, 4 of them where bumblebee shrimp, which means 50% of those were DOA. but i have sent them an e-mail to get credit for them, and asked if they could be shipped with teh other half of the order.

But yes the shrimp were quite active and are now hiding in the tank, a few are courageous enough to venture out onto the green hair algae. I'll update when i can see them under the flourescent, as theiur colors were not ovbious today.

Well, that's not too bad. When I ordered bumblebee shrimp by mail, I had a lot of deaths, too, so they may simply be more fragile. I hope you get a response from AZ Gardens about your DOAs, too, because I didn't...

It's actually a good thing that you got tiny shrimp. It means they are juveniles and you will have them for more of their lives, which is only about 2 years. If you're lucky, they may start breeding for you. I have 4 generations of cherry shrimp in my shrimp tank, and every month someone in there spawns again... It's very cool to watch.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...
