snails | |
averagejoe_la Small Fry Posts: 3 Kudos: 4 Votes: 1 Registered: 14-May-2005 | I am a beginner with a problem. I have snails that are popping up out of nowhere. I'm guessing that they are mating but I still have no idea where the first ones came from to start this big family. Is this bad or good? Will they hurt my fish? |

If you do not overfeed they will probably not overtake your tank. Do not worry about it right now, unless you get millions (which usually means overfeeding) |

illustrae Fish Addict Posts: 820 Kudos: 876 Registered: 04-May-2005 | Snails can be a bit of a nuisance, but they will pose no threat to your fish (unless they manage to grow large enough to swallow fish whole while they sleep) and unless there are millions of them, they shouldn't damage any plants you have (which is probably where they came from to begin with). You could even get some fish that love to eat snails like most botia loaches. Just be aware that these fish like company and some can grow to be quite large. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |
