HorseGal Hobbyist Posts: 134 Registered: 28-Jun-2007 | yeah, i just kinda gave up and left them there, so i wouldnt call it patience... oh, there is one big problom, the tank i used still had gravel in it so i put a plate under the cup for the eggs, but the nest "drifted" and they bred over gravel, and lot of eggs are still down there, and ones that fall that he doesn't see worry me. will they still hatch and how long till baby fry? What came first? the chicken or the egg? No really..... |

When they find themselves on the floor, they will dart back up into the bubblenest. This is from what ive read, so i am not sure, but they breeders seem to state this! I would say that the eggs will hatch in 24-36 hours? Or that might be the brine shrimp eggs.... Be sure to have some crushed eggyolk and some food for them when theyve hatched! Good luck! ><> ~=!Vote Today!=~ <>< -----> View My Dragons <----- |

GobyFan2007 Fish Addict Posts: 615 Kudos: 363 Votes: 65 Registered: 03-Feb-2007 | Maybe he stopped because the fry have become horizontal swimming, and he is too busy trying to catch them rather than work on the nest. I would check to see any baby fry, and if there is, i would remove the father (Most do. Some leave him in there to help with the fry. This is risky, as he can get frustrated and start to eat them. If this is your first spawn, then i would remove father.). Remember, if they hatched, it will only be like 2 days before you have to start feeding egg yolk or infusoria! Then after a week or so, start BBS or other larger food! Good Luck! ><> ~=!Vote Today!=~ <>< -----> View My Dragons <----- |

GobyFan2007 Fish Addict Posts: 615 Kudos: 363 Votes: 65 Registered: 03-Feb-2007 | I have heard of males not knowing what to do the first time.... I think that you should condition them a week or so more then retry again. I am sure that he will get it right the next time. Maybe you should add some antifungal remedy (Ask others for this) when you have the eggs. That should prevent some fungusing and what not. Also, the male should eat the fungus eggs though, so i am not sure what to do anymore, if he isnt functioning properly. Maybe you have a reflective ob Good Luck! I hope he knows what to do this time around. And also check the water again and again, as they may be hidden! Check if he is bloated, and that could mean that he ate them . ><> ~=!Vote Today!=~ <>< -----> View My Dragons <----- |
