my betta fish is not eating any pellets, i tried to starve him for a day, but he still doesnt eat it. i bought a bottle of freeze dried bloodworms and he eats a little of that. But if he will only eat that and i can only feed him that, he wont get a staple diet. cuz im sure the bloodworms are missing some nutrients.

Try not feeding him for 3 or more days, or only offer the pellets. When he gets hungry enough he'll probably start to eat them. You're right about the blood worms, as a steady diet would not be that great for him.

they also make betta flakes. my betta personally wont touch flakes, but you might try it... i agree with oldtimer.. fish will usually eat just about anything if you starve em for a few days.

I alternate pellets and bloodworms for my Betta. I have Betta pellets mixed with Tropical fish pellets...they are a slightly different color and have a slightly different make-up but he seems to like them both.

I would not even be concerned there are plenty of good varieties made for Bettas.
Mine eats every thing I put in the tank. The frozen Blood worms would be his favourite followed be a food I buy for the Cardinal Tetras.
I would try the frozen blood worms rather than the freeze dried.
You can see in my profile what I feed my fish with. He loves his cooked vegies as well.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
