Betta tankmates in a 10g | |
GirlieGirl8519 Fish Master *Malawi Planter* Posts: 1468 Kudos: 1029 Votes: 35 Registered: 25-Mar-2005 | Are there any peaceful tankmates that could live with a male Betta in a 10g, lightly planted? I thought of maybe neons or cardinals and a couple ottos. Any thoughts? |

As for neons, I make a caution of that in my article, because I've heard of bettas making a snack out of particularly small neons. If you can get a hold of ones that aren't terribly tiny, I'd do that, or go with cardinals. It's possible that a well-mannered betta wouldn't decide on having sushi for dinner, but some bettas can be QUITE aggressive and wouldn't think twice. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

I am going to try to find some cardinals..if not i'll get bigger neons. I plan on heavily planting the 10g when I get the funds. I knew I had seen pictures of a Betta with cardinals..and it was Keith. Nice tank by the way. I'm jealous. My betta is dark blue so I thought cardinals would be perfect with him. I wish I could find kuhli loaches but I haven't seen any in the 5 pet stores around here..oh well. Thanks again! |
