I was wondering if a male betta would be ok in a 48in x 18in x 24in tank with 6 silver dollars, 2 red blood parrots, 1 firemouth, cardinal tetras, 2 swordtails, 2 yoyo loaches and 2 zebra loaches. I have to ask before buying one because as I understand it they do normally like to be alone in a smaller tank. Can anyone give me any advice on this please even if you think its a no no I would rather no than go and buy one and find out that way many thanks to you all. http://www.greenspersonalprinting.com/ |

Betta's prefer smaller tanks without big currents & it's better to keep them alone. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

As far as a small tank I have seen many in LFS in large tanks and one in particular a 6ft plant tank he was having a ball freedom at last. I am putting one Betta in a 11G with a few peacefull fish.
