Hiya,

Just want to ask how well do bettas get along with gouramis in the tank. Because I currently have about 12 sparkling gouramis in my 50cm cube tank and I wish to add a male betta in the tank.

You think its ok?

Regards

Not quite sure, because the Betta might attack the Gourami's.

I recently bought a pair of honey gouramis for my 10g which already had a betta that I thought was VERY gentle, yet after a few days, my betta started attacking the gouramis....I had to sepparate him. I wouldn't do it.

Bettas are generally not good tankmates for any other labyrinth fish - I would not recommend keeping them with gouramis - especially sparkling gouramis which are timid enough as it is. I think a betta would probably scare them into hiding even if it didn't attack them.

I am certainly no expert on Bettas but before purchasing one I did a lot of research and if I can remember correctly it would not be the wise thing to do.
