Here it is possibly very close to decision time.

Tank Delbarb 41cm-16ins wide Hex type 24lt-6.3 USgal
OR
46cm-18ins wide Hex type 34lt-8.9US gal

Heater 25Watt is this big enough?

Filter Eheim Aquball 2206

Plants availability and low creeping Sag.

Light twin fluro 46cm 18ins one plant & one daylight

Fish
1 Male Betta "Variety???"
? Cardinal Tetras
? Khuli Loaches

The back and part side will be painted black ( this is a must)
There a few extras a 6 seperate switch board, 24hr timer.
I will also be making a 10cm-4ins base support to give it extra height, and a seperate frame to support the glass and the light which will be above the open tank.

How does all this sound. Please be very critical.

Would any one like to have a guess at the cost I will translate it if you can not. I should have a very good idea next week excluding plants & DW

Keith

I don't think you have room for 2 schooling/shoaling fish in a tank that small, let alone with a betta as well. I'd start with the betta, and maybe test out with shrimp or snails to see the aggression level. I'd just go with other bottom feeders as fish, since you'd likely run into compatibility issues with others.

They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

Have a bit of a headache right now, so I am just doing a quick response to the first thing I noticed. The 25 watt will not be big enough to heat either of those aquariums. Generally they are only rated for 5 gallons or less. You will want 50 watts.

Oooh... my show is on... I will continue when it is over!

Stormy 5

It was 24hrs after I posted that I realised it had to be a 50W or 75W heater.

If its a 50, buy a high quality one, as a 50 could easily cook that size tank.

I use a 50 on a 20 gal, and 25s on my 2, 3, and 6 gal tanks, and they do a fine job. I have a 50 on one of my 10's, and it works pretty well too.

Sorry I did not get back on till today! I have a 50 watt on my 10 gallon, and 25 watts on each of my 2.5 gallons.

So far most of it sounds pretty good. If it were me I would go with 3 otos instead of the loaches, but that is just me. As for what variety of male betta, I would go with a halfmoon or a crowntail. VERY gorgeous and showy fish! Plus you have the benefit of a lot of tail to slow them down if they are overly aggressive!

Are you still considering doing what we had talked about in mail with it?

I can't wait to see it Keith! I am sure it is going to be gorgeous! When you are all done, you can come and set one up at my house!

S5 yes but a bigger tank looks like the 34lt Bow front

I have located an Aqu that has otos and my regular aqu is making enquiries about geting them.
I bought 2 X 50W heaters this morning sale 30% off.
Dont panic one is for a spare
The final decision will be
How many
1 male Betta
?? Otos
?? Cardnel Tetras
How many is recommended of each
I have upgraded my Filter to the Eheim 2208 30-60lt
Twin plastic fluro unit 1 plant & 1 daylight tube.
