Today I noticed he was building a nest in his small netting holding tank.

Does this mean he could also be a happy chappie remembering he eats well and out of my finger tips regually.

If he's happy & healthy, he will make a bubble nest & you've got happy & healthy fish. It will be very soon that you'll get him a she & start breeding Betta's.

No Girl Friend certainly no room for any more tanks.

The hold area is a very fine white mesh breeding/baby holder 16x12x12cm it is clipped to the side of the 5ft tank the light is at the back corner, and no direct light overhead, it also has plenty of water sprite on the surface. He eats exactly the same as the big tank lately he has been having cooked pea & corn most nights.

oh well so he will be a bachelor for the rest of his life, is that so bad? Amusingly enough I have a little girl in the same situation as he is in. The fine white mesh fry holder, but she's in the 6ft tank, and she eats what the rest of the guys and gals in there eat...she's a little crazy, but the other two girls wanted to flair and eat her so that is where she's at for now:%)heidi
