I was looking for a nice brilliant blue one but they didn't look too good at the lfs and I walked away with what looked like the best guy they had. I'm pretty sure he's a veiltail, bluish/reddish translucent kinda thing, just gorgeous. I'm housing him in an empty 10 gal tank I had set up with a snail that likes hanging around. Whisper 10i filter (I think), nice gravel and a few plastic plants/decorations. He's already acclimated and ate tonite, Hikari betta bio-gold which he seemed to really like. Tomorrow Imma try him on some freeze dried bloodworms. Iffin I can ever git that digicam to work I'll try to post a pic./:' |

I did notice that as mine was kept in a small jar at the LFS he could not swim strongly into a current now a month later he can swim straight into the current and play in the air stone bubbles. Here is more info on my tank. I set up PhotoBucket to show how I made his Desktop home. houston Fish Guru You want what when? Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 | Take good care of him and give him some love and you'll be surprised what can and will happen I know my bettas tend to liven up quite a bit when given more than 1/2 a cup of water to swim/sit in and like keith's most of mine have a good bit of waterheck Lucky is in the 125, just don't tell him that he's supposed to be aggressive, act maleish, and like small quantities of nonmoving waterhe's a strange guy "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." divertran Fish Addict Posts: 784 Kudos: 469 Votes: 165 Registered: 14-Nov-2004 | Hi all. Just a quick update. Zed, is doing well in the 10 gallon tank, But I just wasn't even close to being impressed with the whisper 10i filter. The water was turning stagnant, and had an oily film on top (I know, I know from feeding and not cleanin up after) so I ran over to petsmart and picked up the little Aqua Clear 20 filter. Man is that a good filter! Even at full flow, which really isn't all that much, the water cleared up within 10 minutes and is now back to its pristine condition. The best part is... Zed loves it! He hangs around in the shadow of the box and plays in the mild current. he is totally able to swim around and get away from the current, and there are many ways for him to escape it, but he just loves aiming his head toward the filter and pretending to be a salmon swimming upstream. I'm glad he likes it./:' |
