Flame Gourami | |
LEE_WILMOT_706 Enthusiast Posts: 243 Kudos: 201 Votes: 3 Registered: 27-Jun-2004 | I recently got one of these guys and they're so cool. He's only 3cm but already he looks colourful. The trouble is I been looking up, and I can't find anything on them, Can anyone help ? |

bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | there is no fish called flame gourami per say. it is a color variation of a dwarf gourmai, or a honey gourami. again these fishes are mostly sold under, flame,sunset etc. gourami's. it is pobably a small species of gourmai. but my guess is it is a (dark red, almost purple) then it is a honey gourmai, and if it is(orange, with blue) then a dwarf gourmai. |

They can be treated as a normal dwarf gourami, and they are easy to care for. They will eat most of the foods offered to them, and will get along with almost all tankmates. Male fish are more colorful than the females, who often look silvery or brown in color. They are good citizens, and usually only reach five cm or so. All in all, a nice, hardy community fish. |
