Another betta followed me home ... He did! I swear it! (Okay, maybe he had some help getting into the car... )

Anyway, He's a lovely white... the faintest hint of palest pink/flesh colored. The only real color on him is his gill flare (very dark purple close to black) and a touch of color near the base of his tail. He's got this little fan of purple/blue/magenta and a faint line of the same on his dorsil fin. I can't wait to see what he looks like when he colors up.

The problem is that he's got fin rot. Either he's a veil whose lost a good half of his tail or he's a delta with some minor erosion. From the way he holds his tail, I might guess veil, maybe combtail. His anal fin has some minor combing to it. *shrugs*

What do you think?

Note: those pale blue-green washes are NOT there in person. The camera just keeps putting them there. The pale pink/white of his body carries through to his fins. I've found the paler the fish, the more impossible to photograph correctly. I can't get a decent picture of my pale yellow betta, either. *rolls eyes*

Edit: Forgot to mention that I've begun treatment with melafix... we'll see how that works. He's also eating hungrily, so he seems pretty healthy!

Yet another Walmart find. Drat them... they get such interesting bettas in sometimes. I swear, I'm going to have a houseful of them ... when I get a place of my own!

A nice looking betta. Hopefully with treatment you can take care of the fin rot. Looks like a veil to me.

bettachris... I NEVER had any good finds until recently.

Just over two months ago, I found this GORGEOUS pale yellow betta at Petsmart.

A month ago, I found a white and blue delta tail at Petco.

Now I found this guy at Walmart...

I've now been told that this HAS to be my last fish. We'll see how long THAT lasts! :88)

Yes, well, we'll see how this goes. Dosing with melafix, and he certainly isn't sick! I've never seen a more active betta, I swear it. Constantly flaring and darting around his tank... I'm going to have to prepare the extra two gallon for him soon... he's too active for the temporary one gallon home!

Kitten, I just got two white bettas from walmart. Their fins are the same way... I wonder if it IS finrot and not a genetic problem...you know, overbred whites.

Well, I noticed some red edging his fins last night, so I'm going to switch meds from melafix to something a bit more targeted to the problem.

Since I've got one betta that has recurring fin rot, I've got just about every answer to the problem that you can have, now it's just a matter of chosing one!

I hope you can quickly find the right medicine for him. I would hate for him to loose that pretty tail.
