Couldn't pass him buy... even after calling heidi for intervention tactics. He's nifty, like a mustard gas with salmon pink instead of mustard yellow. The pink is actually a little bit lighter than the picture shows. [/font] ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

I talked Heidi out of one, maybe two bettas on Saturday. Actually when she said she was thinking about breeding them, I said then get some good stock, and I would help her with that. |

kitten Fish Guru Meow? Posts: 2266 Kudos: 2194 Votes: 19 Registered: 18-Nov-2003 | Well... my furthest regular pet store is 15 minutes away. I was in Joliet (which is about 50 miles from where I am) this weekend and happened to stop by Petco. Twice. Heidi and I decided that if he was still there the second time around, he was destined to be. There was another nice one I was looking at there, but definitely a second choice. As it was, I almost walked out of the store without paying because there was THREE employees in the store... one helping someone net some fish, the manager doing inventory, and one guy doing nothing but gab with the dude at the promotion table (some cat litter company or something). Like, hello?! There were five people in line by the time I finally said, "look, I don't mind walking out without paying, but I think you wouldn't like it so much, miss manager lady!" (well... something to that effect. )Of course, the guy who was just gabbing was wondering why the other guy wasn't at the register... uh, cause he was elbow deep in a tank? And not only that, but I'd been in one line waiting while everyone else went to another lane (I'd seen the guy catching fish at the one register, so that's where I lined up), but everyone else cut in front of me when the gab-guy opened the lane that NO one was standing at. *sigh* All that frustration for a betta buy. I really do have to stop buying bettas... at least until I move out. I've come to the realization that I already have one more "permanent" betta setup (i.e. not a female in QT, waiting for her pass to get into a community tank) than I have available heaters. This works until winter. Then I either need to buy more heaters or reduce on bettas. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | the longest was when i am in NJ and stay out there for a few days. first get some bettas at sea side hights, then go to atlanitc city. where we spend the night. these bettas get first class treatment there. probably the only bettas in a super suite. the next day i go to my secret store(which is a petsmart) and get some more bettas.[the best store ever!] and then sometimes we all go home, or we stay another night. so bettas even go on vaction with me. i think i need help. |
