Opaline gourami questions. | |
Satinandtat Hobbyist Posts: 54 Votes: 0 Registered: 11-Aug-2005 | I just got an opaline gourami for my planted 29g, and I've noticed him sort of pecking at my largest (and nicest) Amazon sword. Is he going to eat/destroy/uproot it, or was he just "exploring" his new tank? Also, I think I read somewhere that someone had a problem with their gourami ruining they're wisteria. I have quite a bit of wisteria in that tank, but I haven't seen anything bother it...again, are there going to be any issues here? And finally, I have 3 otos in that tank and the gourami seems to be chasing them a bit. He's ignoring the corys and the tetras, bu doesn't seem too fond of the otos. I think they're too fast for him to catch, but is that a problem? I had a betta in there before I got the gourami, but I took him out when he started harassing the otos...don't know what it is about those things. |

I have seen them picking at the plants but never any damage. As far as uprooting I dont think so as they are mainly top to middle swimmers and eaters. (well mine are) [link=My Betta Desktop tank photos]http://photobucket.com/albums/b209/keithgh/" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] [link=Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.]http://www.fishprofiles.com" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
