Male Gourami don't always get along with each other. How will a Thick Lip and a Pearl do together in a 50 gallon?

Pearls and Thick Lipped are probably the 2 most peaceful gourami there are. But with all Gourami it could come down to the individual personality.

50 gal is a nice size, personally I think it would work. Maybe the odd chase out of the others territory but no serious damage.

I keep a number of different breeds of Gourami together with no problem one there's enough room in the tank

I think it would work. Since pearl and thick lipped gouramis are both pretty small, they won't be constantly bumping into each other in a 50 gallon tank. Also, they are each a very peaceful (depending on the individual personalities of the fish) kind of gourami, so they probably wouldn't have a problem with each other, anyways. If the tank is a well-planted one, then I'd be willing to bet money that the fish would get along.

I think it should work. THe pearl and thick lip goramie are fairly small and one of the more peaceful goramie out there. In a 50gallon tank they each should be able to clame some territory.

Well, pearl gouramis aren't exactly "small"

We've had several customers at work bring us 6" leeri's before

But back to the original question, a 50 gallon should be okay with those two. As long as they have their room to establish their own territory if needed, things should be fine. A densely planted tank couldn't hurt either.

I think it's going to come down completely to personality, we've had shipments of gouramis come in where the males have shredded eachothers fins, and we've had other that customers have kept in ten gallons with no problem at all.

G/L

IMO gouramis are very pretty, please be sure to post pictures when they get settled in.

I think that there will be aggresion but a trick that works well with gourami aggresion is to buy them as juvis and as they grow up they will get more peaceful. I bought a few and they are the most gouramis I have kept and now they are full grown.
