Proper Beta care??? | |
reun Big Fish Posts: 332 Kudos: 216 Registered: 04-Nov-2005 | ok, i will have another beta soon, i want to make sure i am taking care of it correctly. i was feeding it every other day a mixture of flake food,some community high protien food, shrimp mixture, and bloodworms. temperture for the tank was a steady 72 degrees, water at 7.0 ph. any suggestions on proper care? |

If you are putting it in a community tank make sure not to put it with anything that resembles a betta or has long,colorful fins. If it is in a seperate tank, make sure it is at least one gal, despite what the signs at the store say, they like thier space. Inky |

Minimal current within the aquarium, 4. Use some vegetation to give the fish resting or hiding spots. reun Big Fish Posts: 332 Kudos: 216 Registered: 04-Nov-2005 | well, he will be in a 2 gallon, minimal current, no real plants other than some silk vegitation. there are some places for him to rest and hide. i will adjust feeding schedule to smaller amounts once a day. temperature is a constant 72 degrees. Feed the fish once a day, no more than it can eat in 5 minutes I disagree with this, sorry, but I find my bettas can eat ALOT in 5 minutes I'd say no more than they can eat in 2 minutes.. Or are my bettas just greedy? |
