Well my gourami, isn't his usual self. I think I know wot the problem is, ever since put the lamp in he seems, to stay near the plants and shaded areas. Wot can I do 2 help him, maybe some java fern ?? Any suggestions r welcome !!

If the light is too bright, get some floating plants & the Gourami will have some shelter.

Sounds like a lighting problem. Get some water sprite if you can it grows very fast in the correct conditions and is an excellent floating plant as well as giving them a good light cover.
