Who goes in first Update | |
keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | After I have cycled my 10g Betta tank and the plants are established who goes in first, the male Betta or the support small fish? Also what is your reason for your choice? Keith Last edited by keithgh at 09-Jun-2005 23:25 Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. Plus, it means you get more schooling out of them if they're tetras - a week or so when you add them, and a week or so once you add him and scare them. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

Don't panic too much when he's put in, he may do a bit of chasing at first but will settle down very quickly. Once settled they are very peaceful with other fish. I've seen neons steal food right out of my Bettas mouth without a fight, just a dirty look Bettas are esily distracted a bit like dumb puppies in a decent sized planted tank. Poking around everywhere they are more of a danger to themselves then others :%) Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

I thought the male Betta could get a protective of the whole tank. Instead of a bottle I will get one of those floating breeding holders (if they are still around) then he can get used to them and I should not have any water problems either.
