Well I would prefer no heater...but I have kept them both at 80F for a little while now (in separate tanks) and going from 80 to 70 (or less) may not be good for them. It just might not be possible to have one heater (length) also if it is a solid division (glass) you will have to have filtration in both sections. Unless you have a UG filter with two risers one in each section. Does this make any sense to you? I am going to try to find a divider with "flow" holes. Small holes that allow the water to flow through so I will only need one filter (hopefully). I am trying to save some money by using filters I already have...and not buying a different type because I am running a little low on cash. I have only HOB filters and have 2 not being used that are rated for 10g tanks. If I find that type of divider, would it be ok to have one filter and one heater...I would use a 50w submersible heater and place it vertically next to the divider...so that hopefully the heat would be distributed evenly, if the water is. |

Just make sure that you have enough holes, so the water pass easily. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
