I went into the LFS yesterday and saw a fish marked as a rainbow dwarf gourami. It was 2x as expensive as the normal blue or red ones, but 4x as beautiful. That got me thinking, I should make a list of gourami color variations and mutations. I thought it would be fun to see how many we could come up with.

dwarf gourami:
coral blue
orangish red
red
rainbow

blue gourami:
blue
2 spot
3 spot
gold
opaline

kissing gourami:
white
pink
baloon

giant gourami:
grey
?

snakeskin:
?

pearl:
?

moonlight:
?

Well, there are the normal red ones, which are 100% red and these other ones that I think are called sunset dwarves.

There are a number of other Colisa species not mentioned in your list, such as Colisa fasciata which I like to call the Banded Gourami (mostly because "Giant Gourami", a past common name, is ambiguous and "fasciatus" basically means Banded).

Blue Gouramis can also come in purple, if I am not mistaken. I haven't seen them in person but I have seen them online. If they're actually purple and not edited by the computer I can't say, though.

Kissing Gouramis also come in Marbled coloration with green and white or whatnot.

Giant Gouramis Osphronemus goramy come in their normal grey/blue colors as well as a white color. There are also pink polkadot ones that are white ones injected with dye. There are also other Osphronemus species such as the Red-Tail (O. laticlavius) and Elephant Ear (O. exodon).

Snakesin, Moonlight, and Pearl Gourami do not, to the best of my knowledge, come in other forms other than the ones you see.

Sparkling Gourami, Croaking Gourami, and such are unrelated to Dwarf Gourami.:%) Although if you meant Dwarf Gourami in a way that meant that they were smaller species of Gourami, I suppose you'd be correct.

What I'm really doing is trying to get a list of the different types of color variations (and mutations) in common gourami types. I'm not talking about dye as a fish can be dyed any color.

And the orangish gouramis are red coral gouramis

I was at my lfs today and saw the purple gouramis. They pop up when you cross blue and gold gouramis, and they have a lovely violet sheen. They're not dyed, though these weren't as bright a purple as I've seen in some pictures online.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...
