well..i dont think u need a heater with a 3g tank...but if the temp where u goin to put it flactuates...then... a 25w heater (this is gud for 5g) will most certainly do...and u can just buy a regular thermometer...i like the glass thermometer with suction cap...its fairly reliable and cheap.

A 25W is what you need, and trial it witout the fish in until you hit the right temperature otherwise you might boil the fishies.

accurate thermometers, probably the digital ones from Smith or the floaty ones. the stick-on ones are the least accurate.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

generally no. u don't need a heater. a heater is up to u. if u are breeding then a heater is ness, but if u put him near the cold, then he will need a heater, but room temp, it's up to u.

A 25w heater would be sufficient Callatya's suggestions certainly make good sense. I have use the small floatable types. I also have a stick on and I use this as a good guide reason it is quick and easy to read. Both of these seem to be accurate (maybe I have a good stick on)

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
