In a tank that size I think 2 male, 4 female would be fine. The males can be a bit territorial but I think you should be ok with that much space. I do suggest getting either floating or very tall plants that will provide some shelter at the top of the tank and break the line of sight between the males. If the top of the tank is fully open with nowhere for them to hide, they may be aggressive. If you have a lot of tall or floating plants near the surface, you could probably even keep 3 males in a tank that size.

Yes, you'll be able to keep the six pearls in there. The two males will most likely be fine together, as well. The pearl gourami is one of the most peaceful gouramis, and even the males of this species will often get along together. If you read that males can't go into the same tank, then their aggressiveness was overstated. As long as there is cover as described in the above post, you will most definitely be able to keep those fish in there.

Not a problem as long as they have a place they can call their own. Water sprite (floating plant) gives a perfect top cover besides they like nibbling at them.

I have only Opaline Males in my 320 lt tank. They are extremly peacefull and possibly the best to keep all males together

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.

Yes, you can have 6 Pearl Gourami in a 200L. tank. Pearl's are peaceful & the 4 females & some floating plants would do a great job.

I'll be interested to hear how it works out.

I had two males and one female in a 30 gallon. The dominant male kept the younger male confined to a bottom corner of the tank, and if he came out, he'd chase him back (although he never actually hurt him.)

I just transferred the younger male and the female to a 55 gallon; I'll try adding the more aggressive male later after the younger one has a chance to establish a bit of a territory of his own. If Mr. Macho still doesn't calm down, he's going to end up living with a colony of rainbowfish in one of my other tanks!
