what kind of home for a Betta | |
GirlieGirl8519 Fish Master *Malawi Planter* Posts: 1468 Kudos: 1029 Votes: 35 Registered: 25-Mar-2005 | I have one male Betta in my 10g with some neons and ottos. That is a great home for a Betta. I want another male Betta but can't put him in either of my aquariums (in my 55g I want angelfish). I can't have another aquarium and I use my 5g for a hospital tank and it is being used kind of frequently now a days. Would it be mean to put a male Betta in one of those 3 gal set ups? I really with I could have another 5g or 10g, but I have no room. I always feel sorry for the Bettas in the cups at the LFS and Walmart and would rescue them all if I could. Is 3 gallons good enough with no filtration? Last edited by GirlieGirl8519 at 27-Nov-2005 17:00 |

THey actually make little HOB filters for 'em. This is the link: http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?R=9110&sku=925586&redirectURL=%2fShop%2fProductList.aspx%3fPC%3dproductlist%26Nav%3d222%26N%3d24%2520112&PC=productlist&Nav=222&N=24+112 You'll have to copy and paste, I guess. I do twice-weekly waterchanges on mine because I haven't gotten around to getting the filters yet. I think you can buy heaters for small tanks, too.. like a 25W, or you can just keep the tank in a room that stays warm overnight. One of our LFS has them in very small round containers no filtration or heating and the shop is always extremly cold. I put my finger into one and it was very very cold. The only difference between our tanks is I have Cardinals not Neons. There are plenty of photos in Photo Bucket. Have a look in [link=My Profile]http:// www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] for my tank info [link=Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tanks]http://photobucket.com/albums/b209/keithgh/Betta%20desktop%20tank/" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I should feel really good knowing that he went from a half gallon or less bowl to a 2.5 gallon tank. I guess I will just feel guilty that my other Betta, Jack, lives in a 10g. I really want another Betta though. Mine is so funny.:%) |
