Do you mean you took them from the main tank and put them in a breeding tank by themselves to... you know ? If so, you don't need to do that. Believe me, they will find each other and mate in a community tank.

A breeding tank is used when the female is having the fry so they won't be eaten by other tank mates.

How big is the breeding tank?
Actually, at most of the time the females are pregnant already..so u can just have the females be alone in the breeding tank. If u r talking about the tiny little plastic breeding box, then I suggest u dun use it at all (unless ur main tank is filled with other hungry fishes). The last time I saw my guppy breeding and I got her into that box, she freaked out and dropped a deformed baby, in contrast, the 1st 2 babies she dropped (before I put her into that damn box) look totally fine and healthy...

I agree with Patson...breeding boxes are more trouble than they're worth. As long as you don't have a lot of large predators and have plenty of places for fry to hide, you are going to have quite a few fry that grow up. Cabomba and Myrio, live plants, are good ways to offer protection. If you don't want to deal with live plants, look for an artificial plant with lots of small leaves.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
