I have pineapple swordtails so its real easy for me to tell on her also I notice when she is pregnant she "attacks" the food when it’s feeding time. If you plane on keeping the fry make sure you either have a breeding net to separate the mama when she is birthing and then take here immediately after or you can just provide lots of cover for the babies. In my tank there is hornwort(http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/p75016.htm) its real easy care for I let mine float on the top and also I have moneywort in my tank plus ornaments and a few fake plants. Generally I have some were between 2-4 of the fry that survive with out an intervention for me. Good luck. "No whammy, No whammy, No whammy, STOP!!" 1984-Michael Larsen On Press Your Luck |

This site says that the gestation period is from four to six months. So there is a possibility that she is. http://fish.mongabay.com/species/Xiphophorus_maculatus.html †Aquapickle† |
