they dont need live plants but live plants make any tank better

Yes, the guppies will eat the babies if they don't have enough places to hide.

EDIT: If you don't want babies why don't you get all males? I would say you would be able to have around 6-8 of them in a 10 gallon

6 guppies sounds fine in a 10g, but is this the same tank you want the cardinals to go into? I would just stick to either the guppies or cardinals.

Ok so decide on the cardinals or guppies. Either one is a nice choice .

2 options for guppies:

1. 2m/4f guppies without plants or hiding places, so that their fry will be eaten.
2. 6m guppies with plants so that they can nibble on algae that grows on plants.

IMPO, i'd like to go to number two.

I just answered that question in another one of you postings.

I still cannot see your reasoning of getting FMs when you dont want the babies at all.

Can you please explain you reasons for doing this as it has got me completly confused why you are wanting to do this at all.

male guppies are only "aggressive" when there are more males than females in the tank because they are always harassing the females trying to get them to mate which can stress out the females. If you don't have any females you won't have to worry about that.

The males are also more colorful import. I'd agree with them and stick with males. They won't disappoint you. -Amy
