Hi I have a Sebae Anemone and Purple carpet anemone. My Sebae I have had for about 7 months, and it is doing so-so. My carpet anemone is doing very well, and I have had it for a month, BUT... it is loosing its colour. I had 1 x 18W white globe (10 000K) and 1 X 18W Actinic globe. I added last night another 15W white globe (10 000K) and another 15W Actinic globe. My tank is A 30gal and is about 40cm high. Will this improve the colour and health of these anemones or should I add more light, or is it something all together? My water readings are quite good nitrates, nitrites, amonia all are almost zero, my temp is 26.5deg, and silinity is 1.024. Calsium is 480,and my ph is 8.1. Any help would be great.

That should help, but the carpet may need more light then that. Keep an eye on it. The problem is once they are light starved they have a hard time recovering.

Even with the addition of your new lights, that is still a very low amount from them.

I'd consider a more serious upgrade.

That light is not enough, anemones need ALOT of light. Look into some power compact lights.

Thanks for the reply's. I must say that my leather coral looks great with the upgrade, it is huge in comparison and all its polys or tenticals are out, my Sebae Anemone also looks a bit better. My carpet still looks the same big and open wide. The clown loves it I will be looking out for a small power pack light, my canopy is quite crowded as it is now, hopefully I can jam it somewhere.
Does this power pack light have to be pointing right at the carpet and sebae, and what effect will this have on my spounch coral next to it?
