Bad day for my tank | |
pmdaggett Enthusiast Posts: 191 Kudos: 169 Votes: 1 Registered: 25-Jul-2004 | 2 days ago I completed a 5% water change. My power filter has a surface skimmer float that submerged in the middle of the night. It ended up sucking up my green chromis. Later, my 2 year old found my diamond goby had jumped the tank and was dried up behind my tank. Then I found out that my maroon clown has a white spot growing on its gills. To top it all off, my GSP's have retracted and haven't come out in 2 days. This SW tank is consuming my life, and my income. |

The last two months were like that.Setting up two QT tanks to treat with hypo salinity and losing half my stock anyway. After 6 weeks the tank was free of ick but not my stupidity.I installed a piece of plexi-glass in my sump with something on it and poisoned my pods and $60 worth of shrimp.wanted to tear the thing down but a few days after the storms I found myself back at the LFS checking on some new stock. Time heals ! |

pmdaggett Enthusiast Posts: 191 Kudos: 169 Votes: 1 Registered: 25-Jul-2004 | Can you identify the disease that my maroon clown has and how to treat it? It a whitesh cloud growing on the side of his face. It has gotten larger over the past week, so I fear the worst. I've considered treating him in my QT tank, but its only been running for 2 weeks now and isn't cycled. I think he may be on his last days anyways. Any help for him? |

pmdaggett Enthusiast Posts: 191 Kudos: 169 Votes: 1 Registered: 25-Jul-2004 | I found out that the disease is common for maroon clowns. He shows all the common symptoms of a fish that has the fungus called Brooklynella hostilis. I put in my QT and he's been in there for 1 day. I've been treating him with melafix and some other type of treatment that I picked up today. The only thing is that he doesn't take food. I haven't fed him in 3 days now because its useless. How long can a fish go without food? I've had him for 8 days now and haven't seen him take food yet. Is he certain for death? |
