Light Quantity?? | |
johnnylaw1984 Enthusiast Posts: 158 Kudos: 168 Votes: 19 Registered: 27-Sep-2004 | i have a 50 gallon fowlr tank and it curently has a pc florecent tube lighting the entire tank. How much light should i give the aquarium daily? I am not very familier with lighting and any help would be appreciated. thanks john |

However, depending on what else is in the tank, you may need them. As you have not listed anything in your tank. If you have an anemone, as many consider this to be included in a FOWLR, but they are actualy related to corals, and then you will need brighter lighting. With SW fish, the brighter lighting will not intensify their colors, so there is no need to have it. In the end, if you don't need it, and do have it, it will only cause an increase in algae growth. There is always a bigger fish... |
