Hii, I am planning on a 240 ltr tank. after reading thru the posts for the past month I have come to know about the importance of Live rock.. I wanted to know if the Live rock can be added in parts. Say I add 10 Kgs in the first month then another 10 and so on?

A lot of folks use live rock to cycle their tanks (I did) and each time you add live rock, or any live creature(s), your tank will cycle, even if its only a small cycle. But adding live rock in phases shouldn't be a problem that I'm aware of. A lot of folks also recommend moving/adding rock/decorations just before adding new fish as well.

That shoudl be fine. Many people say add about 10 pounds at a time once every other week or so. Watch your water conditions and add as you can.

I just added 22lbs of base rock and got a minor spike of ammonia.Nothing a few water changes didn't handle though!

I have added 8lbs of live stuff to an existing tank but I cured it in a rubbermaid container first.

Do we have to cure the rock each time.. before adding it to the tank?

Depends on where the rock comes from and how well it is cured. For example, if it was just shipped to you from somewhere else, there would probably be die off. If you put that rock in the tank it creates ammonia that can lead to a mini cycle.
