Hey folks,

I'm still trying to put together my plan for my first SW tank. I'm doing alot of reading. I did go to price tanks, I was looking at a 46 gallon bowfront, but then I noticed a 65 gallon tall tank that was bigger and cheaper. Is a 65 gallon tall good for SW?

As with all saltwater, the bigger the better and easier. The problem with tall tanks is that they have less surface area so you cannot keep as many fish.

It will really depend on the tank you want to set up. Bow front tanks are really nice for reefs. As stated, tall tanks are not as good for SW tanks. I would suggest the bow front.

*agrees with the above comment*

I'm setting up a 72 bowfront right now as a reef tank. I was considering going with the 90, but that's a lot taller and figured that the 72 BF would give me more surface area, and it also looks nicer IMO. (And in my moms, gotta keep the parents involved in the hobby )

I think you will be much more happy with a bow front. As they make for a really impressive looking reef. You can build a nice pile, an dstill have a lot of swimming room for fish.
