Hi all,

I was wondering for my fish tank if I should use an LED light or a regular bulb? I hear that led lights use less energy and last longer but they are more expensive. Whats the best recommendation?

Thanks

Hi,
IMO, it would depend upon the purpose of the tank.
If it were a Fish Only tank, then I'd stick with the
CFL's and run the ones in the 10,000 K range.
If you are going to have a reef or use live rock, then
I think I'd go with the LED hoods. They last longer, burn
less electricity, and yes, they are more expensive.
