This is my ten gallon tank that I have my gourami and guppy fry in currently. It has many plants and a DIY 3D background that I made out of Styrofoam that I melted and painted and then covered in silicone. then, I siliconed it to the inside of my tank.
I'd like you to critique the tank

hear is the whole tank shot:

I am no expert but both have a very natural feel. good job on that background I have been trying to find something like that to purchase. I may have to make one myself though. They look great!

I really like the BG. How long did it take you to make and what xactly did you do. I've been thinking about doing one but for a 4ft tank. Lastly where did you get the info how to make it or did you come up with the idea yourself. BTW, I like both tanks.

Ah, sorry to be the only one to criticize you but here we go!

I love love love the background and how it blends well with the substrate, but honestly the decor (plants, wood, rock) lacks organization. Your background is really really nice, having a decor plan and organization will really utilize the use of the background and improve the look of the tank.

thanx. I thought of it myself.
what I did was first cut a piece of styrofoam, the size of the tank. And Two thick pieces to cover the heater and filter intake. Then I got some matches and melted the shapes out for the those 2 pieces and made the large piece rough and rocky looking with matches. then, I painted the pieces with acrylic paint. Next I measured where the 2 thick pieces should go and siliconed them to the big board. then, I siliconed the entire thing to the tank. Last I covered every part of the BG in a thin layer of silicone.
I let it dry for a few dsays and put it in.
it took an afternoon to make and about 2 days to dry before I trusted it enough to put it in the tank
