My ten gallon consists of six guppy girls in varying stages of pregnancy, eight or so small fry and three tiny long finned green aeneus cories. The sixth guppy girl and the cories were added today. (Have no fear, when the aeneus get too big for the tank, they have spots reserved for them in the twenty gallon with the rest of my motley cory crew. )

Here are the mommy guppies. Don't ask HOW I managed to get them all in the same picture... normally they're all over the tank! The one in the middle with the blue tail is the new girl. The girl on the top and the one on the far left are new-ish... this will be their first drop. The other three are the remaining offspring of my original trio.

"Nuh uh! I don't want you to take a picture of my big belly, even though I look like I'm about to pop at any second!"

"Oh, all right, if you insist!"

The new trio up close and personal

The biggest of the three, I think it's a male. Maybe they like my tank? I swear I saw this one trying to go all T formation on the two smaller ones. Either that or he thinks he's a dog and is sniffing backsides! He keeps shoving his snout under the other two and "sniffing".

And here's the trio flying about the tank... I see them often in mid water for whatever reason. Maybe it's a settling in thing?

Very very nice fish and pictures kitten!
My thought is however that the largest cory is probably a female. They are usually more large and plumper.

Yeah, I know... I was thinking maybe he/she was older? I dunno... maybe she's just *cough* eager. Never seen any of my other cories do the tummy "sniff" though and this one was doing it repeatedly. *shrugs*

I'm going to compare receipt vs bag to see what's going on, cause the receipt labels them as platties , which they are most definitely NOT. However, if it's a computer glitch, I'm going to go back and take advantage... they charged me like, half price for them.

It's actually the female cory that rams the males in the side to encourage them to produce their milt.

It is then brought through the mouth and flushed out the gills over the eggs she hold in her fins.

Plenty of frozen (not freze dried) bloodworms, and in two weeks you will probably have cory eggs.

Eeek! Okay, that's just awesome... I'll make sure to do frozen bloodworms tonight... I'm sure everyone will appreciate the treat!

This is exciting! I wonder why three teeny tiny cories that JUST got put into the tank are more *cough* interested in each other than the cories I've had for over a year and a half?

Dont know the answer to that one.

I have about 15 aenus and albino aenus in a 75 gallon tank and they wont spawn for anything. I got some other cories in 20G tanks and they spawn like crazy.... same water parameters, temps..etc.

STRANGE!
