Add some driftwood (can be real or fake) and some nice rocks. Add lots of plants...background plants, midground, and foreground. Try to make it look more natural (with the wood, rocks, plants). |

moondog Moderator The Hobnob-lin Posts: 2676 Kudos: 1038 Votes: 4366 Registered: 30-Sep-2002 | actually, i'm a sucker for sunken castles in an aquarium if it were me, i'd keep them, add a nice twisted piece of driftwood and plant some dwarf sag in front of the buildings. take out the colored rocks for sure. just a quick question, but what kind of lighting do you have if you want to do live plants? you should have at least 1.5 watts per gallon (wpg) to do some of the easier plants like anubias and java fern. but if you want to get serious about live plants you'll need 3wpg with a co2 injection system of some kind. Like GirlieGirl said, I would go for the natural look.......plants, rocks & driftwood. Personally, in my tank, I don't care if the stuff is real or fake....... just as long as it looks pretty real. |

I suggest you change the bg (background) something with no blue... perhaps black? It makes things look cleaner, but not if it doesn't match the paint colour of the room of course! try to build some landscaping with the gravel! make it uneven!a leafy plant(live!) to cover the filter intake, but make sure it is strong so it doesn't break... Plant more heavily in the background and perhaps put some red tinged crypts in the forground! Give it a theme and give it some umph! |
