Yeah, I was trying to get it so it WASN'T centered, lol. The pure size of it sort of limits to what I can do with it, cause it looks centered almost any place I put it, lol. Here's another pic... glandulosa withered away and is making a comeback...rotala macranda is shooting out of the tank almost...I keep trimming and trimming the tiger lotuses, but they keep making a break to the surface on me... I'll teach em sooner or later though. Getting some red java fern to go on the driftwood to add a bit of spice.

Forgive the reflection of my ten gallon tank in the picture...was kind of in a hurry.

Up close on the tiger lotus : Check it out in the first tank picture 12 days or so ago. Growing like a weed!

Oh yeah, that tiger lotus WILL grow like a weed. Mine was TINY when I got it, and within a couple of weeks it was already getting HUGE! Now it is still in the front of the tank because I am putting off aquascaping until my 75 gallon is finished getting set up, but when I move it... it is going back into the midsection so I can see everything else. Within maybe 3 to 4 weeks it had the ENTIRE top of my 30 gallon completely covered with "lily pads." I kept thinning them out, but no matter what I did, they kept blocking out too much of my light, so finally I went wild on it and cut off ALL the pads. It sort of stunted the leaves that shoot up as pads, and now I have 3 of those sort of leaves fully opened underwater and they are stunning in color and size (a lot thicker overall than the other leaves, and much more brightly colored). Since it opened those 3 underwater, it has not tried to send a single pad up again. I am VERY pleased with it now!

Still working on it... moved the driftwood off center a bit ( still needs more work... it's nowhere NEAR centered but from what you can see through the plants, it still looks that way)...added some more reds and a couple other plants.. still working on dwarf hairgrass.

jake, nice tank pictures, just wondering what lighting you have? what watt per gallon?

i've only got 0.5wpg in my 45g it sometimes looks dark, unlike yours.

nothing should ever be "centered" it looks fine where it is.

i understand what u mean about being afraid to seperate them, but frankly i was the same way when i did the hair grass the first clumps were easy to seperate, then i used a tooth pick to get the rock wool of and to seperate the roots as i broke the bunch up even smaller. the plant is quite hardy, even is u were to break some of the roots they will still live. i broke mine up until i had clumps that had 4-8 per bunch. and within 2 weeks it had filled in the spaces between the bunches

Here is a picture of an amazon plant pearling... in one of my other tanks. It's kind of funny to me, that when the plants were flawless and very nicely green, no pearling...now that I over did something and they have a little algae growth on a few leaves, they decide to pearl. Go figure.

How long does it take before your plants starts pearling?? I am using a DIY CO2 and I have never seen pearling, its 75 gallon.

I have all the stuff for pressurized system, just have to go to local wending shop tommorow to swap out for a new CO2 tank.

It depends on the plant, the fertilizer conditions, lighting, etc. The pearling plant was in a tank with no co2 at all...just ferts and flourish excel. Your plants don't have to pearl to be healthy nor vice versa.

ive seen dieing leaves pearl before it happens quite often actually. but healthy tanks also pearl, usually depends on the rate of photosynthesis and other factors like lighting available nutrients &c. so it really depends on the tank. my 75G tank doesn't pearl but my 20G pearls like crazy. also DIY co2 on a 75G isn't all that effective really it helps but its hard to get concentration up as high from DIY CO2 as you would in smaller taks, so that will play a role on wether or not the plants will pearl in a 75G.

Jake-
I'm not a REAL expert, but that picture of your plant bubbling probably wasn't really pearling. Pearling is usually bubbles that cling to the plants, and look like millions of tiny little pearls. Streaming happens when a plant releases a small stream of oxygen out through a small tear or hole in its' "skin". I've seen it happen with my plants too. But, just to be sure, you should probably ask the real planted tank experts to explain pearling and streaming, and their differences.

Beyond that, you tank looks gorgeous, and I can't wait to see further developments.
