Theyll be off to new homes next week, and he'll be on the weight watchers plan lol. His mate is also about lay eggs any day now, and the silly bugger starves himself for at least the first week of fry guarding duties, so it should drop off him in no time. The false firemouth has only been eating for two days and thats the first colour ive seen him show, so hopefully he should bulk up a bit. He was really quite ill, but the scar on his nose has closed up and a few tiny pits on his snout have disappeared, so hopefully hes making a turn around. Nice species though, surprised more people dont keep them, although I suppose it might have something to do with them being inveterate wifebeaters.Other than that the care seems easy enough, somewhere between that of a satanoperca and a regular firemouth. |
